FORMAS
Formas is an ongoing cultural initiative promoted by Procur.arte designed to create a dynamic platform for encounter and dialogue among artists, creators, producers, and programmers within the performing arts sector.
The event focuses heavily on transdisciplinary creation, presenting innovative and diverse contemporary proposals—including several national premieres—while actively promoting the mobility of artistic projects by showcasing them to both national and international programmers. Structured to stimulate the Portuguese cultural fabric, Formas serves as a crucial meeting point for performing arts professionals while maintaining a strong, engaging presence for the general public.
Hosted in the historic areas of Tavira, the project features a rigorous programmatic structure that includes live performances, critical debates on cultural management and internationalization, and a dedicated Pitching program. This pitching segment operates as a strategic incubator, allowing creators to present around 16 works-in-progress to programmers in 20-minute modules, facilitating early-stage collaboration and institutional backing. To maximize impact, these presentations are enhanced by a specialized SMART Learning coaching program focusing on cultural marketing, project management, and artistic development.
