PISA PAPÉIS
Pisa Papéis is an ongoing publishing project and curatorial platform hosted by Procurarte in Lisbon, dedicated to the promotion, distribution, and celebration of independent publications, artists' books, and printed visual culture.
The initiative aims to establish a hub for independent publishers, photographers, illustrators, and designers, emphasizing the book-as-object as both an artwork and a vehicle for visual narratives operating outside mainstream commercial circuits. Through a meticulous selection of fanzines, photobooks, and self-published editions, Pisa Papéis operates simultaneously as a living archive and a catalyst for the local and international artistic community.
Beyond distribution, the project expands through dedicated art book fairs, editorial launches, and specialized workshops, fostering critical dialogue regarding the relevance of paper in a digital age while actively sustaining contemporary micro-publishing practices.
